Obituary of Earnest Pueschel

Earnest E. Pueschel, 96 formerly of 29 Center St. St. Johnsville, passed away on Sunday November 7, 2004, at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home. He was born September 22, 1908 on Lawrence, Kansas the son of the late Otto C. & Allie A. (Smock) Pueschel. Earnest lived in the Canajoharie area for many years, until moving the St. Johnsville in 1992. His marriage to Jennie Borst took place on September 4, 1942 in Ames, NY. Mrs. Pueschel passed away on April 20, 1982. Mr. Pueschel was an Army veteran, first enlisted on November 10, 1930 and was honorably discharged on November 4, 1933. He later re-enlisted on May 26, 1942 during World War II serving in Panama, as a 3rd Infantry Battalion Agent at Anzio Beach Head. Earnest was honorably discharged on September 22, 1945 with the rank of Technician Fifth Grade. He was last employed at Beech-nut, retiring on September 22, 1973. At one time he worked for several years of the Sanitation Department of the Village of Ames. Earnest was a member of the Fort Plain VFW, Canajoharie American Legion, the Disabled Vets and the 3rd Infantry Division. Survivors include a step-daughter, Leora Potter of St. Johnsville, 4 Step-grandchildren, Dale E. Potter of Fort Plain, Wayne Potter of St. Johnsville, Joseph Peruzzi of St. Johnsville and Joan Swank of St. Johnsville, several step- great grandchildren, many nieces, cousins and one nephew. He was pre-deceased by a step-daughter Helen Peruzzi and a brother Charles Pueschel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 10, 2004 at 11:00 am from the Smith ? Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, NY with Reverend Wayne Cole pastor of the Grace Congregational United Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Ames Cemetery, Ames, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday September 10, 2004 from 10:00 am until the time of the services.
