Obituary of Sidney Rumrill

Sidney M. Rumrill 66 of 5711 Alperton Court, Liverpool, NY a former Stratford and Salisbury Center resident died on Monday evening December 13, 2004 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse after an extended illness. He was born on July 27, 1938 in Little Falls, the son of the late Carl and Delida (Vorhees) Rumrill and was educated in Stratford School. Sid was employed by several consturction companies as a truck driver and was last employed by the Green Island Construction Company. He retired from the Army Reserves after 30 years of service, receiving rank of 1st Sergeant. While living in this area, he was a member of the Stratford Fire Department, serving in all the capacities of the company, including Chief. He personally enjoyed playing cards, fishing and hunting. He leaves his wife, Marian of Liverpool, his daughters Betty Daley and her companion Jim Carpenter of Salisbury, Cynthia Brownell and her husband Jeff of Gloversville, a son Donald and his wife Renee Rumrill of Gloversville, his brothers Robert and Mary Rumrill of Johnstown, Malee and his wife Bonnie Rumrill of Johnstown and Walter Rumrill of Stratford, a sister Dorothy Chrisman of Little Falls, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews including a favorite niece, Leona Smith. He was predeceased by 2 brothers and a sister. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will take place on Friday December 17, 2004.
