Obituary of Linda Schafer

Linda "Lyn" Marie Schafer, 57, a longtime resident of North Utica, passed away on Friday evening, June 4, 2004 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 17, 1947 in Little Falls a son of Ben Tisi of Little Falls and the late Rose (Naple) Tisi. She was educated in Little Falls and was a graduate of the Utica School of Beauty. She was last employed as claims supervisor for Met Life Insurance. Lyn was of the Catholic faith. The central focus of Lyn's life was her family. As a devoted mother, sister and grandmother she generously and selflessly provided her loved ones with unassuming and attentive dedication, willingly committing her self to their needs, their interests and their happiness. She was admired by family and friends alike for her confidence in her self-worth, her kindness and for her peaceful heart, always putting the needs of others before her own. Lyn truly enjoyed the peace and relaxation of the beach. Survivors include her father, Ben Tisi and wife Fern of Little Falls, four children, Melissa Maillie and husband David of North Carolina, James Schafer and wife Samantha of Utica, Steven Schafer and fiance Hilary Jake of New York Mills and Jeffrey Schafer, who resided with his mother, a brother Leonard Tisi and wife Debbie of North Dakota, a sister Debbie Roberts and husband Donald of Frankfort, and a cherished grandson, Tanner Maillie. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main St. between Frankfort and Ilion, on Tuesday, June 8, 2004, from 5-8 p.m. Linda's funeral will begin at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning, June 9, from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, where prayer will be offered and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort St., Frankfort, where the Rev. John Yanas, Pastor, will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Funeral procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest.
