Mrs. Sandra Lee (Brereton) Tucker, 68, of Red Mill Road, Spruce Lake, Little Falls, died Saturday, October 16, 2004, at Valley Health Nursing Home in Herkimer. She was born in Dolgeville on February 15, 1936, the daughter of the late Edgar (Jigger) and Mary (Williams) Brereton. Sandra was an employee at the Daniel Green Shoe Company of Dolgeville for over 20 years. Her dream was to become a nurse and in 1984, after taking classes at Herkimer BOCES, she received her LPN and began working at Valley Health Nursing Home in Herkimer and the Slocum Dixon Medical Center in Utica. Sandy served as an EMT in the Dolgeville area for over 20 years. She is survived by her husband, Curtiss B. Tucker, of 27 years; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Charles Kuehnle of North Carolina; a daughter and her husband, Terri and Michael Ortegon of Hasselt, Belgium; a son and his wife, Michael and Debbie Povec of Austin, Texas; also Bernadette DeMott, Bridget Pellichet and Jay Tucker, all of Syracuse, and Joel Tucker of Illinois; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins. She also leaves a very dear cousin, Bobbi Eabold of Syracuse. An evening memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 20, at 7 p.m. at the Roberts-Buck Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville. Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Losey, pastor of the Dolgeville United Methodist Church, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that Sandra be remembered by a donation to the Alzheimer's Association of Central New York, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
