Davis W. Vokins, Jr., 44, of 482 County Highway 151, St. Johnsville, passed away on Sunday July 18, 2004 at Little Falls Hospital. He was born November 27, 1959 in Scotia, the son of Eleanor I. (Jensen) Vokins and the late Davis W. Vokins, Sr. His marriage to Emma LaGrange was on March 5, 1983 at the Dolgeville United Methodist Church. Mr. Vokins was owner & operator of the Vokins Farm in St. Johnsville. In his leisure time he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He hunted locally and in Wyoming and Coloradoand also enjoyed fishing on Lake Ontario. He was of the Methodist faith. Survivors include his mother, Eleanor Vokins of St. Johnsville; his wife Emma of 21 years; 2 sons: Davis W. Vokins, III and Michael J. Vokins both of St. Johnsville; 2 sisters: Sandra Mosenthin and husband Ted and their children Marisa & Matthew of Salisbury, Linda Desmond and husband Allen and their children Frank & wife Heather, Corey, Joelle and Danielle of Ilion, and a great nephew & great niece, Michael & Morgan Desmond. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, in-laws and cousins. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Cindy Vokins. Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 22, 2004 at 3:00 pm from the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, NY. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday July 22, 2004 from 1pm until the time of the services. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. All memorial contributions may be made to the Oppenheim Volunteer Fire Department, (EMT) in care of Rick Vorhees. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
