Obituary of Gary Weaver

Gary Weaver, 59, a longtime St. Johnsville resident, and since December of 1998 a resident of 93 Loomis St., Little Falls, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2004, at Little Falls Hospital. He was born February 16, 1945, in Little Falls, son of the late Harold (Philly) and Marian (Smith) Weaver. Gary was a graduate of St. Johnsville High School and a certified New York state journeyman machine adjuster. Mr. Weaver was a United States Air Force veteran, enlisting on October 9, 1964, and was honorably discharged on September 24, 1968, with the rank of sergeant. Gary was last employed at Cellect LLC in St. Johnsville. Mr. Weaver was an apparatus captain for the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department and was a former member of the H.C. Smith Benefit Club. Survivors include his fianc?e, Kathleen Getman of Little Falls; a son, Christopher Weaver and wife Tammy of St. Johnsville; a daughter, Tracey Weaver and fianc? Gerald Shelmandine of St. Johnsville; a brother, Alan "Charlie" Weaver and wife Mary of St. Johnsville; five grandchildren, Melanie, Emily and Samantha Weaver, Tyler Mereness and Ashlee Shelmandine; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends, including a special friend, Kim Chapman of St. Johnsville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29, at 11 a.m. from the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville, with Reverend Carl Evans, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Falls officiating. Interment will be in West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 28, from 5-8 p.m. All memorial contributions may be made to the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department or the American Cancer Society.
