Myra E. Wilbur, 97, of Claxton Manor, Herkimer, formerly of 20 S. Washington St., Mohawk, died on Friday, August 13, 2004, at Little Falls Hospital. She was born on July 22, 1907 in West Winfield, the daughter of Fred and Mattie (Geer) Huntley. Myra graduated from West Winfield schools and the Utica School of Commerce. On December 24, 1931, she was married to Rev. William A. Wilbur, at the West Winfield Methodist Church. He died in May 1996. At one time, Myra was employed at Foamite-Childs Co., Utica. She was a member of the Mohawk United Methodist Church, Tri-D Class, and a life member of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of The Minnow Brook Garden Club and AARP. Survivors include her son, William H. Wilbur of Barneveld; her brother, Harold Huntley of Zephyrhills, FL; her sisters, Mary Lawrence of Clinton, and Kathleen VanNort of Seminole, FL; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Russell and Milburn Huntley; her sisters, Jennie Wuy and Florence Huntley; and her half brother, Charles Huntley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at the Folts Home Chapel, 104 N. Washington St., Herkimer, with Rev. Fred Jackson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Chapel prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Folts Foundation, 104 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY 13350. Donation envelopes will be available at the services on Tuesday. The family would like to thank the Claxton Manor staff for their love and concern shown to Myra during her residence. All funeral arrangements and services were entrusted to Murphy Funeral Service, 48 E. Main St., Mohawk.
