Obituary of Ann Bleaking

Mrs. Ann Bleaking, age 75, of Little Falls (Town of Manheim) passed away on Saturday morning, May 3, 2003 at St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. Her passing ended a long courageous battle with cancer and kidney disease. Mrs. Bleaking was born on August 6, 1927 in Little Falls, daughter of the late Harvey and Bernice (Long) Jackson. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy and lived the majority of her life in Little Falls. She was united in Holy Matrimony with John E. Bleaking, Jr., on October 19, 1946 in St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Edward Heenan, officiating. Mr. Bleaking passed away on May 20, 1984. The couple shared over 32 years of marriage together. Ann spent many years taking care of her family and her home. She was a member of the Little Falls Hospital Guild for several years and was a former member of the Little Falls Lady Elk's. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls and a member of its' rosary society. Ann was a wonderful and exemplary mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and always graciously shared her helpful ways, her generous nature and her loving heart with her family and friends. She was always dignified in appearance and will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She leaves two loving daughters, Donna Barretta and husband David of Little Falls and Adrienne Hunt of Little Falls, five cherished grandchildren, Mike Sterusky of Little Falls, John Sterusky of Little Falls, Steve Sterusky and wife Darhla of Little Falls, Mark Sterusky and wife Pam of Charleston, South Carolina and Jaqueline Schell and husband Dan of Ilion, seven cherished great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, in laws, Jean and Charles Cook of Mohawk, Gerald and Sue Bleaking of Mohawk, Kay and Butch Piper of Wayland, NY, and a close and dear friend who was like a sister to Ann, Barb Staring of Little Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:15 am on Tuesday morning, May 6, 2003 from the chapel of the Enea Funeral Home, Inc., 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls where prayer will be offered, thence to Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Monday, May 5, 2003 from 4:30-8 p.m. and to attend the funeral service on Tuesday morning. Funeral procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery where Ann will be laid to rest. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Ann be considered to the Holy Family Parish Restoration Fund or to a charity of one's choice, envelopes are available a the Enea Funeral Home for those considering. Members of the Holy Family Parish Rosary Society will gather at the funeral home at 6pm on Monday evening to conduct their service. The family offers its heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Luke's Healthcare. They truly meet and exceeded the highest standards for professional, compassionate and dedicated caregiving.
