Obituary of Walter Douglas

Mr. Walter R. Douglas, 66, of 51 W. Casler St., Little Falls, husband of Ida Casler passed away on Tuesday evening, February 18, 2003 with his family at his side after a long illness. He was born on March 18, 1936 in Little Falls a son of the late Burton and Julia Dorothy (Krouse) Douglas. He received his education in Little Falls Schools. On September 8, 1962 he was united in marriage with the former Ida Seymour in Glenns Falls. He served his country with the United States Army. He was last employed with the former Allegro Shoe Company in Little Falls. He was of the Baptist Faith. Walter considered his most important hobby taking care of his grandchildren. He was never happier than when surrounded by them and enjoyed taking them for walks. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Ida of the home address, two sons, Richard Douglas of Little Falls and Walter "Wally" Douglas of Little Falls, two daughters, Lorraine Johnson and companion Brett Mowers of Salisbury and Lisa Fox and companion Carl Muhl of Little Falls, three brothers, Dayton Douglas and wife Evie of Tenn., Gordon Douglas and wife Mary Ann of Little Falls and Robert Douglas and wife Myrna of St. Johnsville, a sister, Erma Eberline of Little Falls, six cherished grandchildren, Ronald Fox, Jr., Christopher Walker Douglas, Wayne Patrick Johnson, Jr., Sara Rose Brandow, Rochelle Lee Johnson and Kayleigh Renee Mowers, several nieces, nephews, cousins and inlaws. He was predeceased by his father in law and mother in law, John and Stella Seymour, two sisters, Lorraine Novac and Mariann Fuller and a son in law, Wayne Johnson. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, Feb. 21, 2003 from 5-7 p.m at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls. Walter's funeral will commence at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Deacon Joseph Famulare, officiating. Interment will be held later this spring in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
