Obituary of Albert Dupont

Mr. Albert J. "Manny" Dupont, Jr., age 77 of 127 Bidleman Rd., Little Falls, (Town of Manheim) entered into eternal rest on Monday evening, September 15, 2003 in University Hospital, Syracuse. His untimely passing was the result of injuries he sustained in a fire at his home on Saturday. He was born on March 17, 1926 in Little Falls, a son of the late Albert J. Dupont, Sr. and Milley (Holdridge) Dupont. He received his education in St. Mary's Academy, Little Falls and was a lifelong Little Falls resident. He proudly served his country with the United States Army. He enlisted on November 14, 1944 and was honorably discharged on January 21, 1946. He was last employed with Byers Trucking Company and was self employed for many years as a steel hauler with "Trucker of Steel." Mr. Dupont was a former member of the Little Falls American Legion Post #31. He leaves a son, Albert J. Dupont, III, a daughter Betty Jean Darling and husband David Darling, Sr., of Salisbury Center, a sister Margaret Hodge of Little Falls and two grandchildren, Lisa Harlow and David Darling, Jr. and wife Kathy, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother in law, Walter Hodge who passed away on March 4, 2003. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Wednesday (today) from 6- 8 p.m. Manny's funeral will commence at 11 am on Thursday morning, Sept. 18 from the chapel of the funeral home. Procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer where Mr. Dupont will be laid to rest. Kindly consider contributions in honor of Albert to a charity of your choice. The family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to the staff at University Hospital, Little Falls Hospital, and to the Little Falls Fire Department for all of the professionalism shown and also for their care and concern given during this difficult time.
