Obituary of Erma Eberlein
Mrs. Erma M. Eberlein, age 76, of Sandy Lane Rd., Mohawk, entered into eternal rest, peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 8, 2003 at her home with the love, comfort and support of her family by her side. She was born on May 15, 1927 in Little Falls a daughter of the late Burton and Dorothy (Kraus) Douglas and was educated in Little Falls schools. She was united in marriage with Frederick J. Eberlein on July 3, 1948. He passed away on May 13, 1992. She was last employed with MDS as an assembler. Erma's home was always open to her family and friends. Gifted with a nurturing personality and innately maternal instincts, she fulfilled her roles as mother, grandmother, and friend with deep commitment and great success. As a mother, Erma focused her children upon her own values and principles, and she taught them to believe in themselves and to be all they could be. AS she assisted them through their lives, she was always supportive, attentive, involved and willing to offer help and advice. The occasion's that she shared with her loved ones will always be acknowledged by succeeding generations as the hallmark of family togetherness. Survivors include four beloved children, Terri L. Crouch and husband David of Mohawk, William M. Eberlein and wife Patti of Mohawk, Robert J. Eberlein of Dolgeville, Brian D. Eberlein of Little Falls, three brothers, Dayton Douglas and wife Evelyn of Tennessee, Gordon Douglas and wife Marianne of Little Falls, and Robert Douglas and wife Myrna of St. Johnsville, four cherished grandchildren, Stephanie L. Eberlein, Jason D. Crouch, Jodi L. Crouch-Pickup and husband Jason and Jason Urbiss and two adored great grandchildren, Gavin and Caleb Crouch-Pickup. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, in laws, Donald and Arlene Eberlein of CA., James and Edna Martin of Mohawk, Art and Phyllis Muller of Dolgeville, Ida Douglas of Little Falls and Frank Novak of Mohawk. She was preceded in death by one beloved son, Frederick J. Eberlein on April 12, 1982, two sisters, Marion Fuller and Lorraine Novak and a brother Walter Douglas. The family invites relatives and friends to calling hours at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 from 5-8 p.m. Erma's funeral will commence at 11 am on Thursday morning, December 11, 2003 from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Jon Noble, officiating. Spring interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Ingham Mills. The family requests that all memorial contributions be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society, envelopes are available at the funeral home.
