Obituary of Josephine Fedele

Josephine A. Fedele, 80, of Country Manor, Middleville, and a longtime resident of Herkimer, passed away Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at the Little Falls Hospital. She was born June 20, 1922, in Herkimer, daughter of the late Nunzio and Angela (DeMasi) Fedele and was educated in Herkimer schools. Josephine had lived in Lake Placid for 20 years and New York City for 10 years. While in New York Josephine had worked with the Sheraton Hotel. She was a communicant of the Church of Saints Anthony and Joseph and was a member of the St. Francis DiPaola Society. She is survived by her nieces and nephews including Angela Small and husband James of East Herkimer, Deacon Guy J. Spiri and wife Barbara of Massachusetts, Joseph Becallo and wife Florence of Syracuse, Antoinette and Richard Dulany of Colorado, Angela and John Rizzo of Arizona, Ruth Dorion of New Jersey, Nancy and Warren Schneider of New Jersey, Daniel Becallo of Tennessee and Frank and Maria Becallo of North Carolina; and several cousins. She was predeceased by sisters, Grace Becallo, Carrie Maneen, Frances Spiri and Mary Fedele. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at 9 a.m. at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 9:30 a.m. at the Church of Saints Anthony and Joseph, South Main Street, Herkimer, with the Rev. Robert Shinos, pastor, celebrating her Mass of Christian Burial. The St. Francis Society is invited to form an honor guard at the Mass. Spring interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There are no public calling hours. Those wishing may consider donations to the American Lung Association. The family extends warm regards to the Country Manor and to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Little Falls Hospital for the kindness and compassion extended. Arrangements are by the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, Herkimer.
