Obituary of Frank Jaquish
Mr. Frank J. Jaquish, age 60, of 102 Pine Grove Rd., East Herkimer, beloved husband of Sharon (Kast) Jaquish, entered into eternal rest on Sunday afternoon, August 17, 2003 in the comfort of his home after a brief illness. At the time of his passing he was surrounded with the love and support of his family. He was born on February 4, 1943 in East Herkimer a son of the later Milton and Mabel (Richards) Jaquish. He attended Herkimer schools and has lived his entire life in East Herkimer. Frank married the former Sharon Kast on June 2, 1961 in the Methodist Parsonage in Herkimer with whom he shared a rewarding and meaningful union of 42 years. He was last employed as a maintenance machinist with Revere Copper, Rome. An avid outdoorsman, Frank belonged to the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club where he was currently serving as president. He also was an exempt East Herkimer firefighter and was an active member of the department since his teen years, a member of Boy Scout Troop #22 and was recently recognized as being instrumental in creating the East Herkimer Snow Riders Club. He enjoyed playing with the over 30 softball team and also coached softball and the short league. Frank was an energetic man whose special personal qualities earned and nurtured many loyal and enduring friendships which were deeply meaningful to him. Primary among those special aspects of his character and personality which others responded to were his helpfulness, his generosity, his dependability, his honesty and his trustworthiness; he was the epitome of a true friend. Frank was motivated by concern for his family's well-being and proved to be a loving, supportive and devoted influence in the lives of his loved ones. He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Jaquish is survived by his beloved family including his wife Sharon of East Herkimer, three daughters, Robin Jones and husband William of Ilion, Janine Thompson and husband Brian of Herkimer and Rachel Harter and husband James of Herkimer, eight grandchildren, Ashley and Thomas Powers, Ryan and Megan Thompson, Zachary and Dylan Harter, and William and Derrick Jones, one aunt, Eleanor Grubner of Herkimer, in laws, Sandra McCarthy of Ilion, Jack and Maureen Kast of Herkimer, Cheryl and Michael Masur of Herkimer, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves many dear and devoted friends, too numerous to mention. Frank's family will receive relatives and friends at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Tuesday, August 19, 2003 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. His funeral will commence at 11 am on Wednesday morning from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered. Funeral procession will follow to Oak Hill Cemetery where he will then be laid to rest. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider honoring Frank's memory with contributions to the East Herkimer Fish and Game Club, the East Herkimer Fire Department or to the East Herkimer Snow Riders Club, envelopes are available at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home. The family offers its sincere thanks to Dr. Desai and his staff for their professional expertise and attention. Also to Brian and his crew that assisted in the addition of Frank's home. Even though he will not be here to appreciate its final stage, everything you did for Frank he held dear to his heart. Members of the East Herkimer Fire Department are asked to gather at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7 pm to pay their respects.
