Obituary of Phyllis Kress

Phyllis J. Kress, age 67, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away on Friday morning January 23, 2003 in Texas. She was born on January 8, 1936, in Frankfort, the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Capuano) Jennott and was educated in Ilion schools. She had lived the majority of her life in the Frankfort area. Phyllis had worked with Chicago Pneumatic for many years and retired at the age of 62. She had dedicated many hours on a part time basis for the District Attorney's office in Herkimer since 1998. She was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort and was a member of the St. Francis Ladies along with the Holy Rosary Society of the church. Phyllis loved to garden and exercise through walking. She is survived by her sister, Charlene Gaffney, of Carrollton, TX; a niece, Kellie Gaffney; a nephew, Michael Gaffney and wife, Kim; a great-nephew, Hunter William Gaffney; a great-niece, Kendall Marie Gaffney, all of Texas; several cousins and three wonderful and dear friends to Phyllis, Vita Kissner, of Florida, Theresa Tangorra, of Herkimer and Phyllis Fraccola, of Frankfort. Phyllis was predeceased by her brother-in-law, William Gaffney and an aunt, Juliette Branck. In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, there are no public calling hours and cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial Mass which will be held later this spring at a time to be announced at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church in Frankfort with Rev. John Yanas, Pastor, officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Those wishing are asked to consider donations in memory of Phyllis to the All Souls Chapel Fund, Frankfort or to St. Paul Hospice, 8150 Brookriver Dr., #113, Dallas, TX 75247. Envelopes will be available at the mass or may be obtained from the Enea Family Funeral Home (894-8000). Phyllis prearranged all of her wishes with the Enea Family Funeral Home, Main Street between Frankfort and Ilion. Her family would like to thank Vita Kissner, Phyllis Fraccola and Theresa Tangorra and Barbara Green and Jan Twitty, of Plano, TX along with her co-workers at the Herkimer County District Attorney's office and former Chicago Pneumatic co-workers for the many cards, calls and prayers during this difficult time.
