Rose Kling Oliver, 92, a longtime Little Falls resident, passed away on Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at Van Allen Nursing Home. She was born May 28, 1910 in Passaic, N.J., the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Fiel) Kling. Rose was educated in German schools and St. Mary's Academy. Her marriage to John J. Oliver Sr. took place on Dec. 13, 1925 at St. Mary's Church in Little Falls, with the Rev. E.A. O'Connor, officiating. Mr. Oliver passed away on May 9, 1985. Mrs. Oliver was last employed at Church Street School and Benton Hall, having worked in the food service department. Rose was a member of the Holy Family Parish. Survivors include her grandchildren, Dr. Michael Oliver and his wife Dr. Corinee Yee, Joyce Oliver and husband Kevin Whitaker, Rosemary Durkee and husband Harry, Janice Gorinshek and husband Mark, John Oliver III and Tess, Susan Oliver, and Barbara Strong and husband David; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Sam (Betty) Jantosciak of Syracuse; a daughter-in-law, Helyn Oliver; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two sons, Thomas (Tex) and John J. Oliver Jr; one brother, Joseph Kling; and one sister, Lannie Waterman. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. from the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls and at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Parish, (corner of Main and John streets), with the Rev. Charles Celeste, pastor, celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial. Spring interment will take place at Church Street Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services. All memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
