Obituary of Ida Ottman

Mr. Ida C. Ottman, age 86, formerly of Herkimer passed away on Sunday evening, May 4, 2003 at the Masonic Home where she had been residing. Mrs. Ottman was born on May 22, 1916 in the town of Floyd a daughter of the late William and Sara (James) Anderson and was educated in Utica schools. She was first married to James Barrie Dick who passed away in 1952. She was married to Charles J. Ottman who passed away in 1976. Mrs. Ottman was last employed for General Electric, serving the company for 20 years. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Herkimer where she was active for many years volunteering her time to many activities and was a former member of the Ladies of the Moose in Ilion. Survivors include one son, Barrie James and wife Marilyn of Rochester, two step daughters, Josephine and Joanne (Mitzy), three grandchildren, Teresa James, Terry James and Tera James, and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, and one brother. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 from 12- 1 p.m. Mrs. Ottman's funeral will commence at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered by the Rev. Patricia Lawrence, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Herkimer. Procession will follow to Mt. View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls where she will be laid to rest.
