Obituary of Eleanor Yesford

Eleanor J. Yesford, 77, of Ocala, Fla., passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2003. She was born April 13, 1926, in Herkimer, the daughter of the late John and Lila (Comstock) Nabinger and was a graduate of Van Hornesville High School. At one time she lived in Herkimer for 11 years and had been a resident of Florida since 1984. She was married to John Yesford in Florida. Until her retirement in 1975, Eleanor was employed at the former MDS in East Herkimer. Eleanor was an active and very energetic outdoors person who loved tending to her flower garden. Although she loved all flowers, she was especially fond of orchids. Survivors include her husband, John; two daughters, Jean Youker and husband, Charles, of Dolgeville and Peggy Henry and husband, Roy, of Herkimer; two sons, Richard Kowalski and wife, Mary, of Syracuse and David Youker and wife, Vicki, of Yorktown, Va., three step-sons, John Yesford and wife, Beth, of Oakton, Va., David Yesford and wife, Susan, of Casselberry, Fla., and Paul Yesford; two step-daughters, Susan Miller and husband, Greg, of Apex, N.C., and Laura Corasaniti and husband, Ben, of Simpsonville, S.C.; 20 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; a sister, Grace Sherwood of Little Falls; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother; James Nabinger; and a sister, Freida Bladek. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at 11 a.m. from the Roberts-Buck Funeral Home, 3 Faville Ave., Dolgeville, with Reverend Wrightson Tongue, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Herkimer, officiating. Spring interment will be in Dolgeville Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Monday, December 29 from 5-7 p.m.
