Obituary of Mary Nolan

Mary Ann Nolan, 71, of 6393 State Highway 29, St. Johnsville, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. She was born March 13, 1931 in Waterbury, Conn., daughter of the late Frank and Mary Ann (Grebauskus) Thibodeau. Mary Ann was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Naugatuck, Conn. and moved to the Oppenheim area in 1987. Her marriage to Dennis J. Nolan took place on Jan. 4, 1950 at St. Mary's Church in Union City, Conn. Mary Ann was last employed as a school bus driver for the Prospect-Beacon Falls School District in Beacon Falls, Conn. Mrs. Nolan was a member of St. Patrick's Church and also a member of the Oppenheim Old-Timers. Because Mary Ann considered her family to be her foremost priority, she gave her full attention to being a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother. In her leisure she enjoyed quilting and bird watching. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Dennis; five sons, John Nolan and wife Adis of Pasadena, Texas, Dennis Nolan of Virginia Beach, Va., Michael Nolan and wife Nancy of Naugatuck, Conn., Tim Nolan and wife Ann of Horesheads, and Thomas Nolan of Waterbury, Conn.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 2:30 p.m. from the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville and at 3 p.m. from St. Patrick's Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place on Friday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 6-8 p.m. All memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
