Obituary of Frank Scarano
Mr. Frank R. Scarano, age 80, of 207 Burwell St., who recently celebrated 55 blessed years of marriage with his wife Rosina (Casullo) Scarano this past November, passed away early Christmas morning at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford. He was surrounded with the love and comfort of his three sons at his side at the time of his passing. Frank was born on June 12, 1922 in Little Falls, a son of the late Rocco F. and Otina (Palma) Scarano. He was educated in Little Falls schools. On November 9, 1947, Frank was united in marriage with the former Rosina Casullo in St. Joseph?s Church, Little Falls. Frank and Rosina provided each other with much love and comfort throughout their life together. Frank served his country as a United States Marine from 1941-1945 spending time in the South Pacific Theatre. He was last employed as store manger for P & C Foods, retiring in 1984 after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted communicant of the Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. He belonged to the Decarlo Staffo Post #8 and the Ilion Marine Corps. League. One of the many past times Frank enjoyed was playing the violin. He was an accomplished musician, a member of the Little Falls Symphony Orchestra and sang in the St. Joseph?s choir. He enjoyed baseball, gardening and watching displays of fireworks. Above all else, the effort that Frank put into loving his family members could be considered a living success story. Some of his most memorable times were when he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Frank selflessly gave his love to his entire family and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosina, of the home address, three beloved sons, Philip Scarano and wife, Marchell, of Little Falls, John Scarano and wife, Debbie, of Little Falls, and Rocco Scarano and wife, Peggy, of Little Falls, a loving daughter, Carolyn Clauss and husband, Joe, of Plattsburg; a brother, Fred Scarano and wife, Polly, of Fort Plain, two sisters, Angie Monary and husband, Carl, of California and Janet Falzarano and husband, Mike, of Virgina; ten cherished grandchildren; Matt, Jonni, Jenny, Philip, Julie, Emily and John Scarano, Joseph, Rocco and Patrick Clauss; in laws, Jeanette and Carl Casullo of Little Falls, Ann Garro of Utica and Jean Casullo of New Jersey. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects at the Enea Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls on Friday, December 27, 2002 from 4-8 p.m. Frank's funeral will commence at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday morning, Dec. 28 from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered by Sister Marilyn Hayes, CSJ and 10 am from the Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Charles R. Celeste, pastor. Frank will be laid to rest this spring in St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer at a time to be announced where full military honors will be accorded. Kindly consider remembrances in honor of Frank to the Holy Family Parish Restoration Fund, envelopes may be obtained at the funeral home. Members of the DeCarlo Staffo Post #8 are asked to gather at the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Friday evening to conduct their service.
