Obituary of John Spisak

John Spisak, 80, of 3335 St. Hwy. 5, Frankfort, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2002, at his home. He was born January 11, 1922, in Port Dickson, the son of the late George and Helen Spisak. He was a resident of the Frankfort-Schuyler area for 30 years and at one time he lived in the Guilderland-Albany area. His marriage to Lillian Hink took place in 1945 in Binghamton. Mrs. Spisak passed away in April 1997. Mr. Spisak was a World War II Army veteran, enlisting on November 5, 1942, and was honorably discharged on October 25,1945, with the rank of sergeant. For many years, John was a salesman for Holt Brothers in Mohawk and worked for Spisak Auto in Herkimer. At one time he also owned and operated the Country Squire in Guilderland. Survivors include his son, John A. Spisak and wife Carol of Herkimer; his daughter, Derrinda Vesley and husband Richard of Guilderland; his grandchildren, Jon Spisak, Mike Spisak, Matthew Spisak, Rick Vesley and Tracy Vesley and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Andrew Spisak; and four sisters, Anne Jewett, Helen Ashley, Sue Wohlers and Mary Kilgallan. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at 11 a.m. from St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church, 296 Clinton St., Binghamton, with Father James S. Dutko officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Binghamton. In keeping with John's wishes there are no public calling hours. Arrangements are by the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer. All memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael's Greek Catholic Church.
