Obituary of Scott Petteys

DOLGEVILLE-Scott M. Petteys, age 28, of 16 1/2 S. Main St., Dolgeville, passed away on Monday morning, April 12, 2010 in Little Falls Hospital with his loving wife, Nicole, by his side. Scott was born in Herkimer on March 8, 1982, son of Michael Petteys of Michigan and Luann (Woodcock) Petteys who resides in Mohawk. He graduated with Mohawk High School, “Class of 2002”. On June 20, 2008 he was united in marriage with Nicole Klawonn of Dolgeville in the town of Manheim with Judge Mike George presiding. Scott was currently employed with Orion Bus Company, Oriskany and formerly employed with Yette’s Pizza, Herkimer, Paesano’s Pizza, Mohawk, and Kentucky Fried Chicken, Herkimer. He was of the Methodist faith. Scott was a man who possessed great strength of character and was a fighter. He was motivated by a determined attitude and a deep sense of responsibility. He also had a kind and generous nature and had many friends. His steadfast commitment to his personal values as well as his respect for loved ones served as the basis for an inspiring legacy which he leaves in the memories of all who knew him. His life revolved around those he loved, especially his son. He loved the peace and serenity of fishing and spent many great times enjoying this hobby. The happiest times of his life were those spent in the love and company of family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his loving family; his wife, Nicole of Dolgeville; his son, Landen also of Dolgeville; his mother, Luann Petteys of Mohawk; a sister: Kayla Parker of Mohawk; his maternal grandmother, Helen Woodcock of Middleville; his father, Michael of Michigan; his mother in law and her companion; Lorie Klawonn and Chris Ferguson of Dolgeville; a brother in law: Adam Klawonn; many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous special friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert Woodcock and maternal great grandmother, Ruth Currie. The family will be present at Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Ilion and Frankfort, 894-8000 on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 4-7 p.m, to receive relatives and friends. Scott’s funeral will commence at 11 am on Friday, April 16th, 2010 from the chapel of the funeral home with the Robert Wollaber, pastor of Morning Star Ministries, officiating. A final interment service will take place at a later date in Mohawk Cemetery, II. Arrangements are under the direction of funeral director, Daniel J. Enea. The family offers their gratitude for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
