Ilion: Mr. Robert John Champion, Jr., 34 of 302 E. Main Street, Ilion passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010. He was born on March 2, 1976 in Utica, son of Anne Marie Lacelle and Robert John Champion, Sr. Robert resided in Utica most of his life, attending Proctor High School and has lived in Ilion for the past six years. Robert worked as a supervisor for Centro Bus Services, Utica and also at one time for Midas Muffler of Utica. Survivors include his mother: Anne Marie Lacelle and step dad Robert Wright of Clark Mills; his father: Robert J. Champion, Sr. of South Carolina; four daughters: Rebecca Kelsey, Amanda Champion and Caitlin Cieri of Utica; Isabella Champion of Ilion; son: Victor Kelsy of Utica; brother: Christopher Michael Champion and wife Shawnna of Utica; sister: Aimee Nicole Champion and partner Jessica Mulyca of Syracuse; grandfather: Alfred Lacelle and Mildred Darrah of Bridgeport; grandmother: Margaret Brewer of Utica; fiancé: April Mintel of Ilion; best friend and brother since childhood: Chuck Doris and family; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved grandmother Anne Lacelle. His funeral will be held at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion-Frankfort on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11AM with Father Thomas Lawless officiating. Calling hours will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. The family is being served by Harry J.
