Obituary of Jane Schwasnick

EAST HERKIMER-Mrs. Jane Schwasnick, 94 formerly of 213 East Street, Galinsky Apartments, and the Country Manor passed away peacefully on Monday morning, June 14, 2010 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born on June 5, 1916 in Little Falls, daughter of the late John and Mary (Pislar) Kauchick and attended St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls. On September 1, 1934 she was united in marriage with Joseph Schwasnick in St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls with the Rev. E.A. O’Connor, officiating. Mr. Schwasnick passed away on May 8, 1999. Mrs. Schwasnick’s last professional employment was with Salada Tea as an inspector. She was a devoted Catholic and attended Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer and also belonged to the Rosary Society. Mrs. Schwasnick was a former member of the town of Herkimer Senior Citizens and the Slovenian Home, Little Falls. Survivors include her loving family; a son: John Schwasnick and wife Sylvia of California; a sister: Julia F. Mizerak of Herkimer; her grandchildren: Suzanne Krebs and husband Mark, Monique Hecker and husband Dan, Deanne Weber and husband Erik, and Richard Schwasnick and wife Michelle; great grandchildren: Giselle Krebs, William Krebs, Samuel Hecker, Sophia Hecker, Hali Schwasnick, Cody Schwasnick, Ian Weber and Corinne Weber; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. The family will receive relatives and friends at Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Friday, June 18th from 9:15 am until 10:15 a.m. Mrs. Schwasnick’s funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Friday, June 18, from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered and at 11 am from Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, South Main St., Herkimer where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Vail. Procession will follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest with her husband Joseph. In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider memorial offerings to Valley Health Services, Herkimer or the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph. Envelopes and donations may be made at the funeral parlor. The town of Herkimer Senior Citizens will conduct their service at the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:30 am. The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Valley Health Services and Country Manor for their kindness and compassion. The family is being served by director, Daniel J. Enea.
