Obituary of Marion Dzimitrowicz

ILION - Marion D. Dzimitrowicz, age 88, of 37 Hess Ave., Ilion, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, New Hartford, NY. She was born on August 22, 1921, in Ilion, the daughter of Harold and Dorothy (Wendell) Waite, and attended Ilion schools. On December 4, 1940, she was married to Anthony J. Dzimitrowicz in Newport, NY. He died on April 14, 1995. Marion worked as an assembler at Sperry-Rand UNIVAC, Ilion, for fifteen years. She later was employed at MDS, Herkimer, for seventeen years, retiring in 1984. Marion was a member of the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion, Herkimer VFW Auxiliary, and a former member of the Ilion Council of Catholic Women. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and James Kemper, of PA, and Susan and William Ozog, of Ilion; four sons and four daughters-in-law, James and Sheila, of FL, Thomas, Brian and Jill, and Richard and Paula Dzimitrowicz, all of Ilion, and Bridgetta, of FL; seventeen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Ernestine and Peter Pavlot, of West Winfield; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Harold and Theresa Waite, of Ilion, Ernest and Debra Waite, of CO, and Donald Waite, of FL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Anthony, in March 2010; her grandson, James Kemper; and three sisters, Virginia Waite, Carolyn Simorowski and Arlene Briest. Funeral services will be held 10:15 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, and 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Leo Potvin, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 a.m. - 10:15 a.m., prior to the funeral home service. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to HOSPICE. All funeral and burial arrangements and supervision have been entrusted to Don Applegate, Funeral Director.
