ILION-HERKIMER - Patricia “Pat” A. Sebastian, age 71, of State Rt. 5, Herkimer, formerly of Ilion, died on Wednesday, August 11, 2010, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born on January 20, 1939, in Ilion, the daughter of Fred W. and Dorothy (Countryman) Miller, and was a graduate of Ilion High School. She was married to Gerald Bonner who died in 1977. She later married Richard “Dick” Sebastian. He died in 1982. At one time, Pat was employed as cashier at Acme Market in Ilion and Herkimer. For nineteen years, she was a customer service rep. at Marine Midland Bank in Herkimer. Pat attended St. Francis de Sales Church in Herkimer and the Church of the Annunciation in Ilion. She was a member and former treasurer of Ilion Women of the Moose #1010. At one time, she participated in women’s bowling leagues. Survivors include her very special friend and loving companion, for 24 years, Ronald “R.J.” Stowell, of Herkimer; one son, David G. Bonner, of Herkimer; two grandchildren, Katie Bonner and Evan Bonner; several nieces and nephews; special nieces, Janice Springer and husband, Chris, of Ilion, and Donna Sciortino and husband, Mike, of Herkimer; great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; one sister-in-law, Clara Beach, of Ilion; and last, but not least, a very special friend, Carol Snyder, of Ilion, who was there for Pat (thank you , Carol). She was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy (Beach) Miller; stepfather, Fred W. Miller; three brothers, George Beach, in 1998, Charles Beach, in 1999, and Carl Beach, in 2006; and two sisters, Louise Brinkerhoff, in 2000, and Lorraine Robbins, in 2007. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, with Father Anthony Barratt, Pastor of the Church of the Annunciation, officiating. Interment will be in Millers Mills Cemetery. Calling hours are on Saturday, August 14, 2010, from 12 noon to 2 p.m., at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service. The Women of the Moose service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday. The family wishes to thank the staff at Valley Health Services, especially the 1 West nursing staff, for the excellent care given to Pat. Also, special thanks to HOSPICE. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Valley Health Services, HOSPICE or Masonic Care Community.
