HERKIMER-Catherine “Carrie” (Piacente) Shuhart, age 95 of Herkimer passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Wexford, PA. She was born March 11, 1915 in Herkimer, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Piacente. She is predeceased by her husband, Roy Shuhart, daughter Dianne E. Reape, brothers: Danny and Buddy Piacente and her sister Phoebe Sanganetti. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Keith Newsome, Wexford, PA; her very special nephew, Frank Piacente, Herkimer; son-in-law, Ben Reape of New Hartford; grandsons and families, Mike and Jenna Reape of Chandler, AZ; Jason, Christine and Sadie of Saratoga Springs and Danielle and Ben Price of Albuquerque, NM along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank family and friends for keeping in touch with phone calls and cards while Carrie was living in Wexford. There are no calling hours. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be held at St. Anthony’s Church, Herkimer on Monday, August 23rd at 9:30 AM with the Rev. Thomas Lawless, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
