Obituary of Terence Bowers

ILION - Today, we lost our husband, father, Pop, brother, cousin, nephew, friend, and our hearts are broken. Terence “Terry” A. Bowers, age 51, of Ilion, passed away Sunday, August, 29, 2010. He was born on June 26, 1959, in Herkimer, the son of Terence and Eleanor (Price) Bowers, and attended Herkimer schools. On March 21, 1981, he was married to Carolyn Miller in Ilion. Terry was employed as a salesman for Cornelius Asphalt Co., of Mohawk, for over twenty years, with his closest friend, Carney. Terry was an avid NY Yankees and Giants fan. He attended the Church of the Annunciation. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn “Michele”; his sons, Christopher, Terence M., and Kirk Bowers, of Ilion; his grandson, who he adored, Azure Bowers, of Mohawk; his father, Terence, of Colorado, and his mother, Eleanor, of Utah; his mother-in-law, Patricia Church, of Frankfort, and his father-in-law, Chris Miller and wife, Sue, of Utica; his sister, Sheila Castillo and husband, Cris, of Colorado; his brothers, Mike Bowers, of Utah, and Tim Bowers, of Kentucky; his sister, Bridget Haworth (Ian), of California; brothers-in-law, Mark Miller, and Mike Miller and his wife, Lynne; sisters-in-law, Melinda Crane, and Molly Reile and her husband, Ron; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Albert and Betty Bowers, and his maternal grandparents, George and Evelyn Price. Love doesn't end with dying or leave with the last breath. For someone you've loved deeply, love doesn't end with death. --John Addey Friends and relatives are invited to attend Terry’s Memorial Services on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, with Father Anthony Barratt, Pastor of the Church of the Annunciation, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, September 4, 2010, from 12 noon – 2 p.m., prior to the Funeral Home Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Make a Wish Foundation. Donation envelopes are available at the funeral home. Terry’s family has entrusted all service arrangements and supervision to Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, Don Applegate, Funeral Director.
