Obituary of Everett Sanders

MOHAWK-ILION - Everett V. Sanders, age 73, of Conway, SC, formerly of 11 North St., Mohawk, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010, at AGAPE Senior Nursing Home, Conway, SC. He was born on June 29, 1937, in Ft. Plain, NY, the son of Isaac and Ida (Moore) Sanders. He graduated from Ft. Plain High School and attended HCCC. On May 20, 1966, he was married to Martha Ashley in the Herkimer Baptist Church. She died on February 21, 2009. Everett was a Computer Technician in Remington Arms Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1996. He attended Emmanuel Bible Church in Mohawk. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Harry Taylor, of Herkimer; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Melissa Sanders, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Darrell and Kim Sanders, of Ilion; six grandchildren, Zachary and Sabrina Taylor, of Herkimer, Nicholas and Hannah Sanders, of Ilion, and Michael and Kaylee Sanders, of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Viola Johnson, of St. Johnsville: four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Cecil and Elsie Sanders, of Palantine Bridge, NY, Lee and Jean Sanders, of Ft. Plain, NY, Albert and Sue Martin, of North Carolina, and Dick Martin, of Ft. Plain, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Daniel Sanders; two sisters, Frances Hull and Arlene Horning; and three brothers, Raymond, Isaac and Leland Sanders. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, with Rev. Janet Gleason officiating. Interment will be in Frankfort Hill Cemetery. Calling hours are Saturday, 12 noon – 2 p.m., prior to the funeral home service. The family wishes to thank the staffs of AGAPE Senior Nursing Home and HOSPICE of Conway, SC, for their excellent care of Everett. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The Sanders family has entrusted all funeral and burial arrangements to their long time family Funeral Director, Don Applegate.
