Obituary of Ida D Shaul

Herkimer: Mrs. Ida (Donato) Shaul, 89, of Herkimer, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010. Ida was born on June 4, 1921 in Muskegon, Michigan, a daughter of the late Frank and Lela (Eitniear) Donato. Ida lived most of her life in Herkimer, and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. In 1941, she married Harold Vincent Shaul in Jackson, Mississippi. After traveling for many years with her late husband, who was a career man in the United States Air Force, they settled in Herkimer in 1961. Harold passed away in 1995, after celebrating a blessed union of nearly 55 years. She enjoyed hosting coffee get togethers on Saturday aternoons with her friends. She was an avid gardener and loved having garage sales. Ida was involved in the community; her volunteer activities included voter registration and the American Heart Association. Ida was a former member of Herkimer’s Michael S. Pliseck Post VFW Auxiliary and the Herkimer Polish Community Home. Ida was extraordinarily capable and successful in maintaining a perfect balance between her dedication to her family and friends and the other roles in life which she assumed. She was thoughtful, compassionate and perpetually remindful of the years that she and her family shared and will be sadly missed. Ida leaves behind her beloved family; a son, David Shaul and his wife Diana of Austin, Texas; daughters, Patricia Lampert of Herkimer and Jacqueline Shaul-Lynch and her husband Edward Lynch of Cockeysville, MD; sisters, Jacqueline Annotto and her husband Tony and Delores Salisbury, all of Herkimer; grandchildren, Jon and wife Tian Lampert, Kristin Lampert, Dan DeJohn, Michael Paul and wife Leslie, David Baggetta and wife Jessica, Jacqueline White and husband Gareth, Jennifer, Angela and Patrick Shaul; and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sons, Michael in 1945 and Donald in 2006; a sister, Catherine Rickles and a brother, Tony Donato. Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday morning, October 27, 2010, from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm at Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (866-1011).
