Obituary of Ida D Shaul
Herkimer: Mrs. Ida (Donato) Shaul, 89, of Herkimer, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010. Ida was born on June 4, 1921 in Muskegon, Michigan, a daughter of the late Frank and Lela (Eitniear) Donato.
Ida lived most of her life in Herkimer, and was a graduate of Herkimer High School. In 1941, she married Harold Vincent Shaul in Jackson, Mississippi. After traveling for many years with her late husband, who was a career man in the United States Air Force, they settled in Herkimer in 1961. She enjoyed hosting coffee get togethers on Saturday aternoons with her friends. She was an avid gardener and loved having garage sales. Ida was involved in the community; her volunteer activities included voter registration and the American Heart Association. Ida was a former member of Herkimers Michael S. Pliseck Post VFW Auxiliary and the Herkimer Polish Community Home.
Ida was extraordinarily capable and successful in maintaining a perfect balance between her dedication to her family and friends and the other roles in life which she assumed. She was thoughtful, compassionate and perpetually remindful of the years that she and her family shared and will be sadly missed.
