Obituary of Kathleen Sweet

HERKIMER-Mrs. Kathleen L. (Lynch) Sweet, age 69, of Sherwood Acres, Herkimer, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 14, 2011 in Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born on July 10, 1941 in Herkimer, daughter of the late James and Helen (McDonald) Lynch and graduated with Mohawk High School, Class of 1959. She was a lifelong area resident. On September 14, 1963 she was united in marriage with James “Don” Sweet in Blessed Sacrament Church, Mohawk; a union filled with friendship and love lasting 46 years. She was last employed with Herkimer County Cheese, Ilion as an office clerk and was of the Catholic Faith. Survivors include four siblings: Patricia Edick and husband Larry of Newcomb, James Lynch and wife Maureen of Newcomb, Daniel Lynch and wife Joy of Raleigh, NC and Dr. Mary Lynch and her partner Char Jeffris of Dryden; six nieces and nephews: Larry Edick of Atlanta, Ga., Sheree and James Maddison of Hudson Falls, Sue and Phil Griffis of Broadalbin, Craig and Brent Lynch of Raleigh, NC and Scott Edick of Saratoga. Mrs. Sweet loved life and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She will be forever remembered as a kind and caring woman to her family and friends. Mrs. Sweet’s funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Friday, February 18, 2011 from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, where prayer will be offered, and at 11 am from Blessed Sacrament Church, Main Street, Mohawk where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Mark Cunningham, Sacramental Minister, assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Herkimer, on Friday morning from 9:15 until 10:15 am, prior to the funeral service.
