Amsterdam - Mr. David F. Sutton, 55, of Chapman Dr., passed away on February 27, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born May 4, 1955, son of Curtis and Waona (Wick) Sutton. David graduated from St. Johnsville High School in 1973, and SUNY Plattsburgh in 1977. He was employed by Ruch Distributors as Operations Manager for 23 years. David led a vibrant life and had a deep love for his family and friends. He loved to entertain and was a master at his grill. He was an avid NY Giants and NASCAR fan and often travelled to the races. An active member of the Hole in the Wall Gang at the St. Johnsville Benefit Club, he loved to help others. David coached youth sports for many years. He will be deeply missed by many. Survivors include Paula Sutton; his sons, Richard Sutton of Orlando, Fl and Tyler Sutton of Amsterdam; his daughter Kayla Martin and her husband Charles of Chicago, Ill; his stepson Matthew Humphrey of Amsterdam; his father Curtis Sutton of St. Johnsville; his sister Andrea Barbehenn and her husband Frank or Bethlehem, Pa; his grandchildren Isabella and Anthony Sutton and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Waona Sutton. The family will receive family and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St. St. Johnsville, from 6 – 8 pm on Wednesday, March 2, 2011. A service to celebrate his life will be held at the funeral home at 11am on Thursday, March 3, 2011 with the Rev. David A. Johnson officiating. Burial will take place in the spring at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David’s name to the H.C. Smith Benefit Club. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
