Obituary of Antoinette Stasilli

HERKIMER/SARATOGA SPRINGS: Antoinette M. (Stagliano) Stasilli, age 89, a long time Herkimer resident passed away on Palm Sunday, April 17, 2011 at her Saratoga Springs residence with the love and support of her family by her side. She was born on August 11, 1921, daughter of the late Nicholas and Philomena (Barbuto) Stagliano and was educated in Herkimer schools. She was united in marriage to Nicholas J. Stasilli on October 13, 1945, a blessed union of 61 years until the passing of Mr. Stasilli on April 22, 2006. Antoinette was employed as a manager for Dan Dee Doughnuts of Ilion and Herkimer and also worked for UNIVAC and Derby Sportswear. Mrs. Stasilli was a dedicated, loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother and always put the needs of her loved ones before those of her own. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, sewing, and time with her many cherished friends. She will be dearly missed by her family as she was truly the “Heart of the Family”. Survivors include her devoted family; her daughters: Laraine Morra of Herkimer, Maria Cortese and husband Dr. Michael Cortese of Saratoga Springs; grandchildren: Brock and wife Sharon, Nicholas, Mary, Jennifer and husband Mike, Joseph and wife Amanda, Michael, and Nico; great grandchildren: Tino, Austin, Ashley, Joshua, Alexis and Michael; uncle: Guiseppe Stagliano and wife Maria of Herkimer; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Antoinette was predeceased by an infant son Vincent, son Nicholas; brothers: Joseph Stagliano, Salvatore (Sam) Stagliano, and sisters: Mary Barberio, Lena Sgroi and Pat Madison. Funeral arrangements are with the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, NY (866-1011). There are no public calling hours. Her mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. from the church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph, South Main Street, Herkimer, NY with the Reverend Thomas Lawless, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer, NY.
