Obituary of Shirley Trombly

COLD BROOK - It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Shirley Trombly, age 73, on Wednesday morning, February 22, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, NY. She was currently living with Mrs. Payne's Family Care Home in Cold Brook, NY. She was born on April 28, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of Lillian Stolze and Alfred Trombly. She has no known family members. Shirley lived at the Rome Development Center,and then she moved to the Schuyler IRA. Shirley had participated in the CNY DSO Family Care program, living many years with Mrs. Ledda, Mrs. McCumber, and Mr. & Mrs. Miller in their homes. She attended the Herkimer Area Resource Center's Senior Center. She had friends in Mr. & Mrs. Jack Butler, who always fondly remembered Shirley. Wherever Shirley lived, she became part of the family, and was a joy to be with. She loved music and "I Love Lucy" TV episode re-runs. She won an award for her singing of "You Are My Sunshine" a few years ago. Funeral arrangements are being provided by Kevin E. Enea, Funeral Director. Her funeral service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2012, at 11 am, in the chapel of Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, (Town of Frankfort), Ilion (894-8000), with the Reverend Robert Wollaber, officiating. Shirley has a plot in Mohawk Cemetery, John Street, where she will be laid to rest.
