Obituary of Margaret F. Scott

ILION - Margaret "Maggie" F. Scott, age 76, of Ilion, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer. She was born on December 16, 1935, in Ipswich, Suffolk, England, the daughter of Edward and Hilda (Quinton) Rumsey, and graduated from Cobblestone Road School, Ipswich. Margaret married Henry J. Scott on November 28, 1953, in Ipswich, England. Mrs. Scott was a member of the Church of the Annunciation and a Eucharistic Minister. Maggie truly enjoyed her family get togethers and country line dancing. Survivors include her husband, Henry; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Scott and Thomas Koehler, of Fairfield, and Helen and James Reese, of Fairfield; Four sons and two daughters-in-law, Stephen and Dawn Scott, of Mohawk, John and Debra Scott, of Beaver Falls, PA, Peter Scott, of Little Falls, and Kenneth Scott, of Mohawk; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Sandra Couszins; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Daniel James Scott; her parents; her sister, Barbara Baker; and her brother, Edward Rumsey. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 5, 2012, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, and 2:30 p.m. at the Church of the Annunciation, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Anthony Barratt, Pastor, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Spring burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, North Ilion. Calling hours are Sunday, March 4, 2012, from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, Ilion. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Annunciation or American Diabetes Assoc. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. The Scott family has entrusted all Maggie's funeral arrangements and supervision to their family Funeral Director, Don Applegate.
