MOHAWK - Mrs. Gloria J. Brown, age 61, of 29 Marshall Avenue, Mohawk, passed away peacefully, on Thursday afternoon, March 22, 2012, at the privacy of her home, with her loving husband, Tom, at her side. Gloria received amazing care from the local Bassett Cancer Centers and from the entire staff of Hospice. She was born on December 18, 1950, in Greenville, Maine, daughter of the late Lorenzo and Virginia (Bartlett) Quirion. She received her education in schools in Maine. Gloria worked with the Herkimer Area Resource Center as a Direct Support Professional. Gloria joined in a blessed union of marriage with Thomas E. Brown on April 18, 1970, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Mohawk. They were approaching their 42nd wedding anniversary, and together supported a beautiful family. Tom survives, along with children, Virginia Marie Lohr, of Pella, Iowa, and Michael Brown and his wife, Donna, of Mohawk; sisters, Rose Smith, of Bangor, ME, and Linda Quirion, of Old Town, ME; a brother, Morris Quirion; two grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Brown; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and In- Laws, including Donna, Lester, and Michelle. She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gary Brown. Family and friends are invited to attend an evening of calling hours and reflection which will be held on Saturday (today), March 24, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer. The evening will conclude with a brief prayer. In respect of the wishes of Gloria, cremation will take place after the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be set aside at the funeral home for this purpose. .
