Obituary of Ida Sadlon

Ida Sadlon, 98, of Mohawk , passed away peacefully, March 21, 2012, in the St. Johnsville Nursing Home, where she had been a resident. She was born March 11, 1914, in Herkimer , the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Yivanenko Synenki and was educated at the Margaret Tuger School in Herkimer. On April 29, 1939, Ida was united in marriage to Sam Sadlon. Mr. Sadlon passed away, July 3, 1999. Prior to her retirement, she was a seamstress for various companies throughout the Mohawk Valley. Earlier in her life, she was very proud of being able to raise pheasants on their family pheasant farm for the NYS Conservation Department in Paines Hollow. Ida took great pleasure in gardening, reading and especially talented in quilting. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, member of the Paines Hollow Grange, member of the Paines Hollow Home Bureau and member of the UMC group. Ida is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Daniel Tinkler of Little Falls and Jayne and Roger Guchone of Ft. Mills, NC; her grandchildren and their spouses, Wendy and Michael (Tinkler) Albrecht, Laruie and Kenneth (Tinkler) Roord, Suzette and Michael (Tinkler) Bachor, Daniel A. and Laurie Tinkler and John S. and Vicki Tinkler; her fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Sam T. Sadlon, her sisters, Mary Synenki and Stella Bladek and her brothers, Leo Synenki and Michael Synenki. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St, Little Falls, on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 2-4 PM. Ida's funeral will commence at 11AM, Monday, March 26, 2012 from Holy Trinity Lutheran Evangelical Church, 512 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls with Pastor Joseph Famulare, officiating. Interment will be follow in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, where Ida will be laid to rest next to her husband and her son. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in Ida's memory , may be offered to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls or the Paines Hollow Methodist Church, Paines Hollow.
