Ilion: Mr. Merle K. Jones, 85, of Jordanville Road, Ilion, (town of Columbia) passed away on March 29, 2012. Mr. Jones was born on November 25, 1926 in Litchfield, a son of the late Kenneth and Mildred (Card) Jones. Merle attended Mount Markham Schools and was a lifelong Cedarville resident. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy. In 1949, he and Gloria Bokowski were united in marriage, together sharing a loving union of 63 years. Mr. Jones was a dairy farmer and worked on the Burke Family Farm in Cedarville. Surviving Merle are his loving wife, Gloria; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Karen Jones, Larry and Linda Jones, Ray and Marie Jones, Paul and Diane Jones, and Ken and Heidi Jones, all of Cedarville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kristine and Paul Jenkins of Frankfort; grandchildren, Nannette, Michael, Michala, Becky, Jennifer, Renee, Sarah, Austin, Nikki, Stephanie, Jake, Brooke, Jason, Josh, Kristen,; a sister, Jeanine Farrell of Oneida; along with several great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staffs of both Folts Homes and St. Elizabeth Medical Center for the excellent care and kindness shown to Merle during his illness. In keeping with Merle's wishes, there are no calling hours, and burial will be private. They are being served by Kevin E.
