LITTLE FALLS: Lena T. Novak, age 90, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Runk & Pratt Retirement Community Home, Hardy, VA with the love and support of her family. Lena was born on February 25, 1922 in Little Falls, the daughter of the late Paul and Jenny (Guerriero) Casullo. She was educated in Little Falls Schools and on September 6, 1947 she was united in marriage to Albert Novak in St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls. Together, they shared a loving union of 46 years until his passing on February 14, 1994. Lena worked for various manufacturing facilities in the valley and retired from MDS in Herkimer. A terrific cook and baker, she made wedding cakes for the community and her home was always open for entertaining friends and family. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and was a gifted sewer. First and foremost for Lena, was the love for her family. She was a communicant of Holy Family Parish in Little Falls. Survivors include her three children, David Novak of Laurel, MD, Jo-Ann Novak VanVechten and husband Wayne of Wirtz, VA and Deborah Novak Lawlor and husband Robert of Latham, NY; her beloved grandchildren, Sheri VanVechten Miller, Kimberly VanVechten Fitzgerald and husband Kenneth, Sarah Lawlor Baker and husband Justin, Jennifer Lawlor Sayles and husband Tim; great grandchildren, Jessica Gray, Samantha Miller, Tori, Dylan, Carson and Brooke Fitzgerald, Gavin and Grant Baker and Trenton Sayles; a sister, Carm Valent of Frankfort; a brother, John Casullo of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lena was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lewis. In lieu of floral arrangements, expressions of sympathy may be made to Bedford Hospice Care, 1621 Whitfield Dr., Bedford, VA 24523. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY, (315)823-2424. Friends and relatives are respectively invited to attend Lena's funeral service on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. from the chapel of the funeral home and at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, corner of John/E. Main Street, Little Falls where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Thomas Lawless, Pastor. Procession will then follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Albert. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
