Obituary of Lois Pollard

LITTLE FALLS- Mrs. Lois Mary Pollard, 86, passed away on April 11th, 2012 at Alpine Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Lois was born on July 3, 1925, in Little Falls, daughter of the late Edward and Jessie (Howard) Rossiter. She was united in marriage to the late Archie "Dutch" Pollard on December 7, 1947 at the Presbyterian Church in Dolgeville. Their loving union lasted for over 47 years until his passing in 1995. Lois was an Army veteran of WW II from 1945-1947. She was honorably discharged with the rank of Tech 5 and earned the American Campaign Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal. Lois belonged to the Oppenheimer Old Timers- Military Order of the Purple Heart, General Herkimer Chapter 130. At one time, Lois was employed by the Daniel Green Co. in Dolgeville and was a homemaker for many years. Among her survivors are her niece Tracy Barton and her friend Barbara Schwartz. A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Monday, April 16, 2012 at Dolgeville Cemetery. Military honors will be offered by the U.S. Army. Lois will be buried alongside her husband.
