Obituary of Eileen E. Perry

Ilion (Town of Frankfort): Mrs. Eileen E. Perry, 89, of First Avenue Extension, Ilion, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 in St. Luke's Home, New Hartford. Mrs. Perry was born on December 27, 1922 in St. Regis Falls, NY, a daughter of the late Fred and Lena (Bruce) Gokey. She was educated in St. Regis Falls Schools. On April 6, 1940, she and Robert M. Perry were married in St. Regis Falls. Together, they shared a loving union of 48 years until his passing on January 16, 1988. They resided in the Syracuse and Utica areas until they moved to Frankfort. Mrs. Perry is survived by her sons and their wives, Robert and Theresa Perry of Ilion, Thomas and Sherry Perry of New Hartford, and Donald and Isabella Perry of Frankfort, a daughter, Kathy Perry of Frankfort, and a sister, Mildred Brucker of California. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, Debbie Ryder, Robert Perry, Jesse Perry, Sandra LaPoint, Michele Grande, Susan Perry-Zasa, Thomas Perry, Jr., Daniel Perry, Donald Perry, Jr., Angela Perry, Marshall Perry, Clarissa Gray, Christy Bernier, Kelly Hawks, Glen Hawks, and Jeff Hawks, along with 13 great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Joanne Palumbo, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Also, the many non-family members that she brought into her life and made them part of her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, a daughter, Sharon Hingre, her sister, Doris Daktor, and brothers, Clifford, Fred, Bucky and Bud Gokey. Mrs. Perry's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Peters and Becky, Dr. Blaker, and the staffs of St. Elizabeth Medical Center's third and fourth floors, the Special Care Unit, and the St. Luke's Home, with a special thank you to her granddaughter, Susan Perry-Zasa for the wonderful care and compassion given to her during her illness and passing. Also, many, many thanks for the compassion of her son Don and his wife Bella for the many years they put their life second and took extra good care of their mom when she needed them the most.
