Mrs. Marilyn Ruth (Olds) Schuyler, 60, of 318 East Main Street, Frankfort, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday night, April 12, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. Marilyn was born on September 6, 1951, the daughter of the late Harold F. and Ruth A. Olds and was raised in East Schuyler. She graduated from Frankfort-Schuyler Central School, Class of 1969, furthering her education at Herkimer County Community College, Herkimer, graduating with honors with an AA degree in 1971. She completed her education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974 from the State University of New York College at Brockport. Upon completion of college, Marilyn taught second grade at the Margaret E. Tuger Elementary School in Herkimer for two years. Although Lutheran by faith, Marilyn served as the Church School Superintendent of the Marcy Community Church for nine years and served at one time as a Deaconess of the Marcy Community Church. On July 4, 1973, Marilyn was united in marriage with John h. Schuyler in East Schuyler, a blessed union of over thirty eight years. The joys of her life were her children, husband and family as she was a wonderful homemaker, companion and friend. She supported each of her family's endeavors and gave encouragement and strength to them. A passionate doll collector all her life, she found great happiness and comfort in her collection of antique dolls as well as newer fashion dolls. Her love of the family's cats was a source of comfort to her as well, especially the kisses from Daisy Lynn, which were very special to her. She is survived by her husband, John; her three sons, Jeremiah T. and his wife Becci of Newport, VT, Zachary J. of Herkimer and Jonathan H. at home; one grandchild, Caleb Christian Schuyler; her brothers, Gary of East Schuyler, Dennis of Frankfort, Douglas (wife Karen) of Queensbury, Brain (wife Delores) of East Schuyler, a half brother Bill Worden (wife Jana) of Utica; her mother-in-law, Doris E., and Brother-in-law, Robert G. of East Schuyler, many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends and neighbors including two very special friends Dorothy Tripoli of East Schuyler and Dorothy Acquaviva of Seoul, South Korea. She was predeceased by her parents, her father-in-law William, Sr., a brother-in-law, William, Jr., two half sisters, Eleanor Morton and Evelyn "Fritz" Munch, a son Christian A. in 2001 and a daughter, Elizabeth M. in 2007.
