RICHFIELD SPRINGS-HERKIMER: Julia F. (Kauchich) Mizerak, age 94, a longtime Richfield Springs and Herkimer area resident passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Valley Health Services. Julia was born on February 19, 1918, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Pislar) Kauchich. She was married to Sam Mizerak, Jr. who passed away in 1987. Julia was educated in Little Falls and worked for many years at Shurkatch Fish & Tackle Co. Julia loved to bowl and was an avid walker. She was a happy, positive, special lady to her family and friends. She is survived by her niece, Barbara Stevens; nephews, Joseph and John Schwasnick and several great nieces and great nephews. Julia was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Hughes, Frances Schwasnick, Jane Schwasnick, Katherine Davis and Josephine Kauchich. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring and professional staff of Valley Health Services for their care, kindness and compassion during Julia's years there. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Julia's memory can be made to Valley Health Services or a charity of one's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. and Monday, May 14, 2012 from 8-8:30 a.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington Street, Herkimer, NY (315)866-1011. Friends and relatives are respectively invited to attend Julia's funeral service on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. from the chapel of the funeral home and 9:00 a.m. Sts. Anthony and Joseph Church, S. Main Street, Herkimer where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Reverend Thomas Lawless. Procession will then follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer where she will be laid to rest. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
