Obituary of Marilyn DeAngelis

FORT PLAIN- Marilyn DeAngelis, 75, of River Rd. went home by faith to Jesus, her Lord on May 16, 2012 at Mountain Valley Hospice with her loving family at her side. She was born on January 11, 1937, in Utica, daughter of the late Francis and Lucille (Lockwood) Rabideau.On October 26, 1957 she was united in marriage with Joseph A. DeAngelis in Utica. Their loving union lasted 45 years until his passing on April 25, 2003. Marilyn attended local schools and at one time she was employed by General Electric in Utica, Cumberland Farms and local cleaners. She was the world's best wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include her daughters: Margaret Elwood of Schenectady, Linda Kahler and her companion Mike Womack of Schenectady and Laurie Battisti and her husband Tracy of Fort Plain; her son Joseph DeAngelis III and his companion Lisa French of Ballston Lake; her brothers: Wayne Rabideau and his companion Charlene of Old Forge and Bobby Rabideau; her sisters: Donna Sarus and her husband Steve of Utica and Sandy Rabideau of Utica; her grandchildren: Freddie DeLucie, Vincent DeLucie, Amanda DeLucie, Jennifer Kahler, Julie Kahler, Aaryn Kahler, Joseph DeAngelis IV and his wife Alison, Rachel Clark and her husband Adam, Andrew DeAngelis, Miranda, Justin Battisti and his wife Teresa, Anthony Battisti and Nicole Cosar and her husband Mike; her 16 great grandchildren; her nieces nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Kenny Rapideau and his wife Pat, her granddaughter Kara DeAngelis and her step grandson Nathaniel Burnell. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville from 5-8pm on Thursday May 24, 2012. A religious service will be held during calling hours at 7pm with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Marilyn's funeral will commence at 11am on Friday , May 25, 2012 at the funeral home with a short prayer. Procession will follow to St. Agnes Cemetery in Utica where she will be laid to rest with her husband. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for the love and care they gave to their mom while she was there. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Marilyn's name be made to either Mountain Valley Hospice or to the H.C. Smith Benefit Club. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
