Obituary of Angelo Battisti

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mr. Angelo S. Battisti, 92, of Kringsbush Rd. passed away on May 20, 2012 at Wells House in Johnstown with his loving family at his side. He was born on March 15, 1920, in St. Johnsville, son of the late Peter and Anna (Pinaha) Battisti. On June 25, 1944 he was united in marriage with Elinor Colorito at St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville. They would have celebrated 68 years of marriage next month. Angelo was a lifelong dairy farmer. Family always came first to him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Church was very important to him also. He was a trustee at St. Patrick's Church for over 20 years. He loved woodworking and polka dancing. Survivors include his loving family:- his wife Elinor; his sons: Angelo James Battisti and his wife Margaret of Covington, Washington and John Battisti and his wife Christine of Johnstown; his daughters: Barbara Susi and her husband Anthony of St. Johnsville, Elizabeth Pachut and her husband Joseph of Indianapolis, Indiana, MaryAnn Davis and her husband Walter "Buzz" Davis of St. Johnsville and Connie DaBiere and her husband Tony of Tribes Hill; his 16 grandchildren: Jim Battisti, Mark Battisti, Angela Clement, Andrew Susi, Tamara Dunlap, Shannon Davis, Jennifer Lampe, Melissa Albanese, Geoff Pachut, Jonathan Battisti, Maria Battisti, Matthew Battisti, Richard Davis, Michael Davis, Michelle Davis, Ashley DaBiere and Brigette DaBiere; his 17 great grandchildren; a nephew Ross Primer as well as his many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Anthony, Floyd, Egidio, Albert, Americo, Rosa, Anna, Gina and Joe. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville from 5-8pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Angelo's funeral will commence at 11:30am on Thursday, May 24, 2012 from the chapel of the funeral home where prayer will be offered. His Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Hope Church in Fort Plain with Rev. Dennis Murphy officiating. Procession will follow to St. Johnsville Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Wells House and Pineview Commons for the love and care they gave to Angelo during his stays there. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Angelo's name to either the Alzheimers Association or to Our Lady Of Hope Church . The family is being cared for by John P.
