Obituary of Dominick Riolo

Mr. Dominick Riolo 86 0f 30 North Helmer Avenue Dolgeville, died Monday May 14, 2012 in Basset Hospital, Cooperstown after a brief illness. Dom was born in Brooklyn on May 15, 1925, the son of the late Spledonia and Poalina (Incovina) Riolo and was educated in Brooklyn schools. A veteran of WW II he served honorably in the United States Navy from August 3, 1943 until March 30, 1946. He was awarded the American Theater Medal, the Victory Medal and the European Theater Medal for his service to our country. His marriage to Mary Higgins took place on February 17, 1977 in Yonkers, New York. The couple moved to Dolgeville in 1987. Dom was employed in Brooklyn as an importer/exporter for Christies and also continued this business when he moved to this area. Dom was of the Catholic faith and was interested in arts and crafts, and also enjoyed a "Good Cigar". He is survived by his wife Mary, his Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren along with several Nieces and Nephews. A funeral Mass was held at Resurrection Catholic Church in Brooklyn.
