Obituary of Dale Williams

Dale Allen "Stump" Williams 68 of 130 State Hwy 331 St. Johnsville, NY Town of Oppenheim died Saturday evening July 21st, 2012 at his residence with the love and support of his wife and family at his bedside. Dale was born in Malone, New York on May 20, 1944 the son of the late Virginia Lona Williams and is the step son of Allison Darling of Dolgeville. He attended Dolgeville schools. His marriage to the former Ruth Ann Godell took place on August 6th, 1966 at his Mother's home in Dolgeville. He was employed as a machine mechanic at Adirondack Bat Company in Dolgeville retiring from there in 1994. He then went to work for the former Daniel Green Company leaving there in 1995 due to his health. Dale was a member of the United Methodist Church in Oppenheim and his personal interests were in golfing, belonging to the Dolgeville Golf League, as a collector of scale model cars, baseball trivia including cards, bats and balls, and he especially liked to restore old cars and was very fond of his "Taz" car. He is survived by his wife Ruth of 46 years, his children, sons and their wives, Kevin Michael and Klare Williams of Oppenheim, Allen A. and Jackie Williams of Little Falls, his daughters Penny Hayes of Oppenheim, and Dale Lynn and Dave Rackmyre of Oppenheim, his Grandchildren Crystal, Christopher, Carrie, Samantha, Rodney, Mitchell, David III, Hannah, Lucien and Larson, and his step Father Allison Darling of Dolgeville. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 25th, 2012 at 11 AM at the United Methodist Church in Oppenheim, with the Rev. Diane E. DiLuzio, Pastor officiating. Burial will follow in the Curtis Corners Cemetery. Calling hours are on Tuesday from 5-7 PM at the Roberts & Enea Funeral Home 3 Faville Avenue Dolgeville. Memorials in his name may be made to the Oppenheim Methodist Church; envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the services.
