Obituary of Shirley Wardian

Little Falls: Mrs. Shirley Jean Wardian, of Academy Apartments, joined the Angels in Heaven on Saturday, July 28, 2012 in Little Falls Hospital, following a brief illness. Shirley was born on August 16, 1937 in Little Falls, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mildred (Stahl) Lemche. She attended Little Falls Schools. On September 17, 1955, she and Thomas M. Wardian were married, and together they shared a loving union of 45 years until his passing on March 26, 2000. Shirley traveled with her husband to many naval ports until they settled in Pennsylvania, then Maryland; and after her husband's passing, she moved back to her hometown of Little Falls. Shirley is survived by three children: Michael Wardian of Vancouver, WA, Lynn and her husband, Wayne, Parry of Hampstead, MD, and Steven Wardian of Parkville, MD; her sisters: Virginia and her husband LeRoy Gross of Middleville, Barbara Johnson and Donna Farrar of Little Falls; brothers: Don and his wife Carol Lemche of Cedar, MN, and John Lemche of Little Falls; grandchildren, Thomas and Danielle Moser of MD, Justin and Tiffany Parry of MD, Stephanie and Chris Matz of PA, Jessica and Brandon Reeb of ID, Sara Wardian, Amy and Brandon Yovan, and Rebecca Yovan of OR; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Ashlee and Isabella Moser of MD, Haylie and Lexi Reeb of ID, Kailynn Yovan and Baby Yovan of OR; along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many, many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas on March 26, 2000; a daughter, Diane Moser Donmoyer on August 23, 2003; her parents, Jacob and Mildred (Stahl) Lemche; a sister, Betty Jane Hill on September 28, 2006; brothers-in-law, Wayne Johnson in 1980, Harry Farrar in 2001, and Leland Hill in 2009; and a sister-in-law, Sherry Lemche in 2008. Shirley's joys were her family and friends. Her family will forever be thankful to Dr. Lui and the staff at Tri County Medical Center. Also, the dedicated care, kindness, and compassion shown to Shirley and all of her family by the ER and Third Floor personnel of Little Falls Hospital will never be forgotten. We could never thank them enough. Thank you, also, to Joanne Sherman and the residents of Academy Apartment for the care and friendship they gave to her.
