Obituary of Allen Mosier

Mr. Allen Byron Mosier 72 of 22 Slawson Street Dolgeville, a retired Purchasing Agent for Adirondack-Rawlings Bat Company, died Monday morning July 30, 2012 at his residence with his wife Patricia at his side. Allen was born on February 18, 1940 in Dickinson, New York the son of the late Guy H. and Marion J. (Burke) Mosier and was a graduate of Dolgeville High School, class of 1958. A Veteran of the United States Army he served honorably from March 30, 1959 until he was discharged on April 16, 1962 with the rank of Sp4. He served with the Military Police Headquarters Company 24th Infantry Division. He was united in marriage to the former Patricia Newman on March 5, 1960 at the United Methodist Church in Dolgeville; they recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. Allen was employed by the Adirondack- Rawlings Bat Company of Dolgeville from May 1979 until his retirement in August of 2006. As a purchasing agent he held many responsibilities for the company and he also was instrumental in the design of the 50th anniversary bat for the company. His affiliations included Life member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Little Falls Elks Club BPOE # 42, Past president of the former Dolgeville Lion's Club, he served as assistant Scout master for the Boy Scout Troop of Salisbury Center, a former member of the Alfred Dolge Hose Company of Dolgeville and he enjoyed bowling on both the Co-ed League on Sunday nights and the Men's League on Monday nights. He along with his wife Patricia had the honor of serving as Violet Festival King and Queen in 2006. He was an avid New York Yankee Fan, along with enjoying gardening of flowers and vegetables. Animals especially dogs were also of personal interests to him. He is survived by his wife Patricia of 52 years, his sons and their families, Ret. MSGT. US Air Force Paul Mosier of Bellview, Nebraska, and his step son Ryan S. Heath of Ocean springs, Miss., Kevin and Elizabeth Mosier and their son Nicholas of Delmar, New York , a Sister Arlene Mosier Martin of Lake Placid, NY and several Nieces and Nephews. He was predeceased by a Brother William several years ago. A Memorial service with Elks' Ritualistic services will be held on Saturday August 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Little Falls Elks Club on North Ann Street Little Falls. New York followed by a prayer service with Rev. Darius Mojallali, officiating. Military Honors will follow the service. Friends may call on Saturday from 10AM until the time of the service and then join the family afterwards at the Elks' club.
