MOHAWK: Vicki A. Hilts, age 70, a lifelong Mohawk resident, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at the Mohawk Homestead. Born in Ilion, NY on July 29, 1942, Vicki was the daughter of the late Earl T. and G. Annette (Daly) Hilts. She was a graduate of Mohawk Central Schools and worked for over 20 years at Oneida National Bank (Norstar) as a bookkeeper. In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and had a special admiration for her dogs. Vicki had a keen sense of remembering dates, particularly birthdays and was happiest when she was surrounded by her loving and cherished family. Vicki was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church of Mohawk and the Rosary Society. Vicki is survived by a niece, Kimberly Robbins and husband Matthew; a nephew, Troy Hilts and wife Christina; great nieces and nephews, Jacob and Jayden Robbins and Blake Hilts; a sister-in-law, Mae Hilts; hers aunts and uncles including, Robert and Dorothy Daly, Robert and Mary Miers, Dorothy Hilts and Robert Hilts and several cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Earl T. Hilts and her step father, Leon Butler. The family wishes to acknowledge the staff of the Mohawk Homestead for their care, kindness and compassion shown to Vicki over her many years of living there. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion (Town of Frankfort), NY (315) 894-8000 on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 9-10:15 a.m. Vickie's funeral will commence on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, beginning at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home where prayers will be offered and at 11:00 from Blessed Sacrament Church, 54 E. Main St., Mohawk where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Mark Cunningham, Sacramental Minister assisted by Sister Mary Jo Tallman, Parish Life Director. Procession will follow to Mohawk Cemetery, Mohawk NY where she will be laid to rest. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk Homestead. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
