Obituary of Betty R. Caparuso

FRANKFORT: Betty R. Caparuso, age 86, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare with the love and support of her family. Betty was born on April 26, 1926 in Frankfort, NY, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Rosalia (Randazzo) Diliberto. She was a graduate of Frankfort High School Class of 1944 and worked as an award winning secretary for Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome, NY. Betty at one time was married to Serafino "Serf" Caparuso. She was a member of the S. S. Maria Addolorata Society of which she held many offices, including past president, the North Utica Senior Citizens Center, the Frankfort Young at Heart Senior Citizens Center, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ilion-Frankfort VFW and Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church of Frankfort. She is survived by her brothers, Joseph M. Diliberto and wife Nancy of Frankfort and Benny Diliberto and wife Dorothy of Rome; her sisters-in-law, Martha Diliberto of Frankfort and Inez Diliberto of Utica and several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special nephew, Richard Diliberto, who did a lot for her. She is predeceased by her brothers, Nicholas, Paul, Sam, Jim and Silver Diliberto; her sisters, Grace Bono, Tina Costanzo and Lena Cicculli and a niece, Rosemarie Garfield. In lieu of floral arrangements, expressions of sympathy may be made to the S.S. Maria Addolorata Society or Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. The family extends a sincere appreciation to the many ICU doctors, nurses and staff at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare for their kindness, compassion and care given to Betty during her illness. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315)494-8000. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 beginning at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home with prayer and at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, Frankfort Street, Frankfort, NY where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Very Reverend Anthony Barratt, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Procession will then follow to Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frankfort where she will be laid to rest. The Young at Heart Senior Citizens of Frankfort will gather at 11:15 a.m. at the funeral home for a service. The family is being cared for by Harry J. Enea, Funeral Director.
